Black Book

As a young vineyard working to establish itself within a highly competitive wine landscape, RdV needed a way to communicate the quality of its wines, as well as the brand culture and story. Black Book began as a concept we developed and pitched as a large-format publication designed to build a richer editorial world around the vineyard.

Through stories, interviews, photography, and original illustration, the publication follows winemaker Rutger de Vink as he visits the people and places that influenced both his perspective and the vineyard’s identity. Produced over several months, the project involved writing, design, photography, and editorial planning, with content gathered on location from Virginia to Seattle, Bordeaux, and Saint-Émilion. The result is a publication that reflects both the character and ambition of the vineyard while positioning the brand within the upper tier of the wine world.
